Body found in Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas

Another body was found in popular Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texaswhere more deceased people were recently found.

The latest body discovery joins the growing mystery after at least six more bodies were found in the lake during the year in 2024. On Friday, police were called to investigate reports of a dead person in the water near the 1st Street Bridge and the 300 block of César Chávez.

The Austin Police Department (APD) said they do not suspect foul play because the body showed no signs of trauma, but are investigating the incident.

Although the APD is trying to allay the public’s fears, questions and speculation are increasing. Because of the lake’s proximity to nightclubs and bars, police attribute most deaths to accidental drownings.
