Australian consumer confidence, weekly survey, jumped in the first week of 2025

ANZ notes the result:

  • ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer confidence jumped 3.6 points in the first week of 2025, hitting the top three readings since the start of 2023.
  • We expect more upward momentum this year as tax cuts, real wage increases and rate cuts support households.

87.5 is still very pessimistic (100 is a neutral level).
