• What kind of feature is Digital Key?
The Digital Key provides the same functions as a car key using your smartphone.
The information is safely stored in the embedded Secure Element (eSE) of your smartphone, and makes driving your car easier.
• Use a digital key
1) type of NFC
Touch the NFC antenna area of the smartphone with the digital key registered on the car door. The door opens or locks.
After you place the smartphone on the car’s wireless charging pad and authenticate the digital key, you can start the car using the start button.
To use this feature, the smartphone and vehicle must support the NFC feature.
2) Type of Ultra-Wideband (UWB).
The car door unlocks when you get close to the car with your smartphone, and locks when you move away.
After the digital key is authenticated when you enter the car, you can start the car using the start button.
To use this feature, the smartphone and vehicle must support the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) feature.
The following access permissions are required to provide you with this feature.
Basic features can be used even if optional access permissions are not granted.

– Contacts: If you choose someone saved in your Contacts to share a Key
– Location: To check your location when using a Digital Key (Requires permission to use UWB: ultra-wideband method)
– Physical activity: Used to detect when you move towards your car to activate your digital keys (Requires permission to use UWB: ultra-wideband method)
– Nearby devices: Used to communicate with nearby devices when using digital keys (Requires permission to use UWB: ultra-wideband method)
